Why am I writing in English???

Well I have to practice it, so enjoy.

What can I say. It´s been quite a while since the last time I finished my last grade in my Japanese course but since I missed it so much (U_U) It´s time to make a little summary of what I have learned.

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!!!!!!!!

It´s a very interesting language.

But it has also it´s difficult part, the writing.

What do I mean You say??

Well;

The Japanese Language has a special form of writing. Besides the Katakana and Hiragana syllabaries, (this are the Japanese alphabet). It´s diferent becuase instead of using simple letters, one simbol represent one syllable. For example the word ANIME, It´s written with three katakana characters a, ni, me, (アニメ). The katakana and hiragana are a piece of cake. The real deal comes with the kanjis.

The kanjis are drawings that mean a certain word.

It is said that 50 000 kanji characters exist,(MY GOD!!!!!!!) though only about 5 000 to 10 000 are commonly used. After W.W.II, the Japanese government designated 1945 basic characters as “Jooyoo Kanji” (commonly used kanji), which are used in textbooks and official writings.

In Japan, one learns about 996 basic characters from "Jooyoo Kanji," in elementary school. A lot of time is spent at school to learn them.

Each kanji character has at least two readings.

One is the "on" (Chinese derived reading), and the other is the "kun" (native Japanese reading).

For example: the word mountain in its "on" reading is "san," but the Japanese also use the native "kun" reading of "yama".

Kanjis' main use is in the roots of nouns, verbs, and adjectives.

Let´s do some math:

There are 996 basic Kanjis (every single one of them with two readings).

I have learn how write them in the proper order, AND THE TWO READINS (chinese and Japanese)of each one.

Please note that I am only considering the basic ones (996) but if i one to be a pistol in the languaje.

I have to learn them all (50 000).

So I have a long long loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong way to go.
